Monteriggioni

I day tripped to Monteriggioni today after climbing the Torre del Mangia in Siena.

My whole trip, bus and all, took about two and a half hours!

It is only about a 15-20 minute bus ride from Siena and the town is very cute but teensy tiny!

I had the town covered in an hour easy and then had a lovely lunch of bruschette al pomodoro e mozzarella and a glass of Vernaccia di San Gimignano.   The Vernaccia is becoming a new favorite of mine.

There are 14 towers around the walls of this tiny place!

The slide show covers everything, including the falconry event that was taking place at one of the towers.  A bit hard to see the bird, though.
