What Palio? There was a Palio?

It’s Thursday morning, less than two days after the Palio events and there is virtually no evidence in the Piazza del Campo that there ever even was a Palio!

All the stands, benches, barricades, Formula I padding, decorations, etc., are all gone.

More amazing is the fact that all the dirt that was put down to create the horse track is gone!   I have no idea how they did it or when!  I would actually have liked to see that dirt go down and get removed.   It seems like it a monumental feat to me!

[oops!  I forgot to post this on Thursday!]

Amazing, isn’t it? They clean it off at night.
