Montecatini Alto is a tiny little town perched on top of a hill next to Montecatini Terme. It is reachable by a little funicular (€7, roundtrip) and I headed there for lunch today.
A lovely plate of freshly made ravioli and a glass of Vino Nobile was enjoyed in the town square.
Not much of the original town remains (i.e. prior to the 1500’s) due to various battles, but the town has long since been lovingly rebuilt and has a wonderful charm.
It is tiny, though! A two hour visit, including lunch!
