“Chips” in Ireland and the U.K. are thick cut French Fries and are traditionally served with malt vinegar and salt. Delicious! They are a hugely popular “Take Away” food and there are “chippers” all over the place.
Of course, you can get chips with burgers, or more typically as the side with “Fish and Chips”, but you can also get them with curry or chinese food! Just about anything goes with chips!
I have no idea what this sign means, though! I have never heard of or seen a chippers in Italy!
