The Roman amphitheater of Verona is known as the Arena and is second in size only to the Coliseum in Rome. It is thought to have been built in the early 1st century.
Like all Roman amphitheaters, the Arena was used for gladiator games, hunts, and other such family activities! 🙂
It is located at the edge of Piazza Bra (an unfortunate name) and there are very nice views of the piazza from the top of the Arena.
Outside the Arena, one can find several young hotties dressed as gladiators ready to have their photo taken with you for a few Euro!
Today, the Arena is used for theatrical events such as the opera.
