A room with a view

I had the window open this evening to let in some fresh air and I heard the clip-clop of one of the few horse carriages here in town so got up to see the cavallo (horse).  I really miss riding!

It is a crisp but clear night and while I leaned out the window I looked left and admired the campanile of the Duomo (the bell tower of the cathedral) which is beautifully lit.

I had one of those “I can’t believe I am really here” moments.  It might sound arrogant, but as I travel a lot and have lived in Ireland and have spent a lot of time here in Italy it often just feels very “normal” too me.  Then other days, like tonight, I get slapped upside the head and realize how lucky I am!!
