We arrived in the town of Cachi shortly after lunch. It is cute!
The nearby hilltop of Nevado Hill was initially mistaken for a salt mine, so they named the town Cachi, which is the local word for salt.
It is a white-washed town, sleepy, and very well kept! There are a few nice eateries and a wine bar or two and some ‘artisan’ shops selling local handicrafts, etc.
We only spent about an hour here, which was enough to run up and down all the streets and check out the shops. I imagine that even more time to drive around the surrounding areas would bring more ‘shock and awe’, in the natural sense!
