The Feast of the Immaculate Conception

Thursday, December 8th, was the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and as we traveled to and from the Salinas Grandes we saw several small processions along the roads as people brought statues of the Virgin to their churches.

When we returned back to Salta, a mass was just about to begin at the Cathedral.  The exterior of the church is always nicely lit, but tonight the inside was ablaze, too.

Very pretty!
