OK, so I have been really lazy, but I am still here!

Happy New Year everyone!!!

I am once again back in North Carolina and I have absolutely no plans to ‘escape’ to any other country any time soon.

Why? Well, for one thing, I am flat out tired from travel!  I have enjoyed myself immensely, but it is incredible how having fun and being constantly on the move and absorbing new surroundings and new languages can wear one out!   Also, my relationship with my suitcases started to turn a bit sour and we just need to take a “time out” from one another for a while.

During my time in Ireland over Christmas I did pretty much nothing for the first time in over five months!  I slept A LOT which was sorely needed.  The days are quite short there in the winter time, the sun doesn’t even start rising until about 8:40 am, and my mother has ‘black out’ curtains in the bedrooms and there were a few mornings where I didn’t even wake up until about 10:00!!  It was unbelievable!  But I really needed it and, thankfully, it didn’t bother my mother!  It was like being a teenager all over again!

The only really exciting thing we did was go see “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” which I enjoyed quite a lot. I thought it stayed very true to the book, and the characters didn’t deviate too much from the Swedish version of the movies so that wasn’t in any way distracting.  I am also a huge Daniel Craig fan, that kind of eye candy can give a girl a sugar high!  My mother thought the movie was a bit too violent, even though she has read all the books and heard in interviews that script didn’t pull back from the very adult themes.

So, what’s next?  My phone interview with the Fortune company in the Pacific Northwest has been postponed to this Thursday afternoon so I have been doing some research.  Despite whether that goes good or bad, I will need to then mentally regroup and start considering what I want to do with my life.

One thing I need to do for sure is clear out all my closets and drawers and mudroom and garage, etc. Even if I don’t move from N.C., I have too much stuff and need to do something about it!

Exciting stuff, huh?

I will be back after the interview!
